King's Status in Morocco
Before our trip to Morocco, I had learned that Morocco is a monarchy entirely different from what we have in the United States. The King of Morocco is King Mohammed VI. The King of Morocco is born into the royal family. King Mohammed VI is the head of state, and he represents the country domestically and internationally. The King fulfills ceremonial duties such as presiding over national events, ceremonies, and official state functions. He meets with foreign dignitaries and heads of state. King Mohammed VI holds constitutional powers and responsibilities. Morocco is a constitutional monarchy, so King Mohammed VI has the executive authority. The king appoints a Prime Minister and members of the government. The king also has the authority to issue pardons. The King guides the country thru his policies and governance. King Mohammed VI has religious and moral authority within the country. This was very interesting to me because he is a religious and political leader. In my opinion,
