Al Akhawayn University Admission Requirements.

Our trip to Morocco will remain a great learning experience full of fun, from exploring the farming business and meeting diverse ethnic groups and cultures to enjoying Morocco's cuisine and hospitality.
As a student who attended an African college before, I was thrilled to tour the two universities and learn about higher education in Morocco. Besides the rain and hailstorm, I enjoyed the tour at Al Akhawayn University (AUI) and the very informative presentation done by Dr. Ahmed Khallaayoun.
I want to share my understanding of the AUI admission process in my post.  Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane is an independent, public, coeducational Moroccan university committed to educating future citizen-leaders of Morocco and the world through a globally oriented, English -language, liberal arts curriculum based on the American system. (Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane) 2021
AUI admission is competitive, and the cost is relatively high compared to other private institutions, according to Dr. Fouad Rashidi .
There are currently 142 public institutions in Morocco (EACEA, 2012). They are free of charge and are divided into two leading institutions: 1. State Universities open access to all students holding a baccalaureate certificate. 2. Schools of Higher Education (Grandes Ecoles) are public institutions with restricted access to entry conditional on passing a national exam after earning a high school diploma. (Bounahai, S.2014). Like in the USA, AUI Applicants take the standardized test for college admission (SAT) and can apply for scholarships only with at least 1100 points with a 500 minimum in Mathematics. Since French is significantly considered the primary language in government, education, trade, and sciences, AUI requires applicants to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Candidates must provide a TOEFL score of 530 and a minimum score of 4.5 in English Writing to be admitted to the regular programs or a TOEFL score of 420 to be accepted to the AUI Language Center. Besides the high cost for parents, the admission process seems demanding for students. They require good SAT scores and pass the English proficiency test not included in the general curriculum education system. In conclusion, AUI is an excellent private college, not a charitable organization that provides quality education to students to be competitive globally; however, to attend, one must be able to qualify first for admission and have the financial means to cover the cost.
